NACTOY Welcomes Four New Jurors

Jason Fogelson, Petrina Gentile, Matthew Guy and Tom Voelk will bring their industry knowledge and viewpoints to the awards organization

The greatest strength of the North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year™ awards organization is its pool of 50 talented and experienced automotive journalists who serve as jurors and routinely test-drive all the newest vehicles on the market. Today, the NACTOY board is proud to announce that four new jurors have joined the organization:

Jason Fogelson NACTOY jurorJason Fogelson works as Managing Editor for Cox Automotive Inc.’s Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader. He has reviewed and written about cars, trucks, SUVs and motorcycles for over 20 years for magazines, newspapers and websites. Reedy Press published his book, “100 Things for Every Gearhead to Do Before They Die,” in 2016, and he’s working on a new edition for 2026.

Petrina Gentile NACTOY juror

Petrina Gentile is an award-winning automotive journalist — one of the few women who cover cars in Canada. Petrina has been writing for The Globe and Mail’s Drive section since 2004, reporting on new vehicle debuts, the transition to electric vehicles, smart mobility solutions, and the latest automotive technology. She appears regularly covering the automotive beat on CTV NewsChannel, CHCH TV, BNN Bloomberg, CP24, and CityTV. She is a recipient of the 2025 Donald S. Wood Leadership Award for Exemplary Commitment to Automotive Journalism.

Matthew Guy NACTOY jurorMatthew Guy’s goal is to put readers in the driver’s seat for a unique and entertaining look at the automotive industry. Whether wheeling an off-road rig over rough terrain, hauling trailers with a pickup truck, or belting into a sportscar, Matthew is never far from something with wheels and an engine. Writing award-winning content for Canadian and American outlets, he can be found on social media @DudeDrivesCars.

Tom Voelk NACTOY juror

Like many, Tom Voelk’s love of cars was fueled by Mattel Hot Wheels. As a photographer/editor at WCCO-TV and KIRO-TV, he applied that passion to produce automotive specials. In 2003 he stepped in front of the camera to host KING-TV’s Driving Northwest, syndicated by NBC News Channel as Drive. Snapped up by The New York Times in 2013, he continues to produce reviews on his YouTube channel Driven Car Reviews. His podcast Driven is the first to receive an Emmy Award.

NACTOY would also like to thank its four departing members for their service: Ken Gross, Jeremy Sinek, Drew Winter and Gary Witzenburg. All four have been valuable members of the organization and have made significant impacts over the years.

Additionally, the NACTOY board has released its timeline for the 2026 awards cycle:

  • The Best of 2026 (semifinalist round) will be announced on Monday, September 15;
  • Finalists will be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November (exact date TBA);
